- Indication:
- Used in situations where controlling pulpal pain and inflammation is the first priority for example:
- Temporary cementation of temporary crown and bridge especially in case of overreduction.
- Hyperemia And some cases of acute pulpitis.
- Teeth with questionable prognosis with pulp capping protocol to avoid severe pain. Pulpotomy of deciduous teeth.
- Application:
- Mix powder and corresponding liquid.
- Recommended powder liquid ratio is 2.5:1 to be used as temporary filling or 2:1 as temporary cement.
- Mixing should be carried out at normal room temperature 20-25 'C.
- Start with small increments of powder then add the rest in an incremental manner.
- Mixing time is approximately 45 seconds and setting time 6 minutes.
- After mixing apply to the dental cavity without pressure.
- Or apply a thin film inside the crowns or retainers.
- Caution:
- It is contraindicated to be placed under composite restoration because eugenol will inhibit or delay its polymerization.
- Side Effect:
- Extremely rare.
- Patients may experience a temporary unpleasant taste that will disappear after rinsing.
- Not to be used with patient of known hypersensitivity to any of its component or professional use only, store in cool dry condition, with tightly closed pack.
