OverView- Zincofill is -in powder/liquid formulation- is classified as type I Class I zinc oxide eugenol temporary cements.
- It is reinforced with alumina and polymer.
- For temporary filling.
- As temporary cavity base.
- Direct and Indirect pulp capping (together with calcium hydroxide).
- Application:
- Mix powder and corresponding liquid.
- Recommended powder liquid ratio is 2.5:1 to be used as temporary filling or 2:1 as temporary cement.
- Mixing should be carried out at normal room temperature 20-25 "C.
- Mixing time is approximately 45 seconds and setting time 6 minutes.
- After mixing apply to the dental cavity.
- Or apply a thin film inside the crowns or retainers.
- Patients are instructed not to chew on the restored side for 2 hours.
- A pointed sharp and strong probe or excavator is recommended to remove the set material.
- Caution:
- Not to be used under composite or light curing restoration.
- Because eugenol will inhibit and prolong setting of these materials.
- Side Effect:
- Extremely rare sensitivity and some Patients may experience some unpleasant taste.
